1950’s Lancaster Sandland English Toby Mug, Sir John Falstaff, Tankard, Stein, Jug, Made in England

English Toby Tankard Stein, Sir John Falstaff by Lancaster and Sandland no. 175. Hand-painted in England, modeled and designed by T.H. Sandland. Character mug/Toby jug of Sir John Falstaff - the popular comic character created by Shakespeare and appearing in four of his plays. It dates from the 1950's, 60's. (post 1949 by the back stamp, the company ceased manufacturing/trading in 1968.) Hallmarked at the bottom. This mug is in very good condition - no chips/cracks, there is some crazing on the inside. Measures; 5.5" height, 5" width to handle.
