1920’s Nippon Meiyo China Sugar and Creamer Set
This beautiful cream and sugar set is made of the finest porcelain. It is stamped Meiyo China, Nippon in the bottom. Each piece is hand decorated with a spectacular Japanese village with Mount Fuji in the background and a beautiful lake on the forefront, Traditional Japanese houses on the bank with tall pines and a water wheel. Wonderful silver accents on the lid, handles and spout. Nippon porcelain was made in Japan from 1891 to 1921.
Nippon is the Japanese word for "Japan." Nippon porcelain was made to be exported to the west, with designs specifically for American tastes, and was less expensive than most European porcelain. It is now highly collectable. There is one small chip on the inside of the creamer, appears to be from long ago, otherwise this set is in good vintage condition with only light ware on the silver trim from use and age.
