SOLD! 1952 Live Steam Engine Toy, Made in Germany US Zone
Here is a live steam engine metal toy made in Germany US Zone which dates it to 1945 to 1952.
The completed engine relies on the combustion of solid fuel tablets below a water-filled boiler to create steam. As the steam escapes through a pipe, it pushes a crankshaft that turns a flywheel, completing the conversion of heat energy to mechanical energy. The momentum of the counterweighted flywheel carries the crankshaft back to its starting position, ready for the next cycle.
This toy has been played with and shows ware. It does not come with a shovel and tablets to make it work, it does come with a plastic funnel to add water. Stands 5 1/2” tall, base is 6” by 7”.
