SOLD! 1960’s Silver Plated Crystal Swan Pepper and Salt Cellars with Silver Spoons

A beautiful set of vintage crystal pepper and salt cellar swans with silver plated articulating wings. Comes with the silver plated spoons in the original box, made in Italy n.0755. Use of salt cellars is documented as early as classical Rome. They continued to be used through the first half of the 20th century; however, usage began to decline with the introduction of free-flowing salt in 1911, and at last they have been almost entirely replaced by salt shakers. These pepper and salt swans are in good vintage condition, lightly tarnished from age, the original box shows some ware, a great collectible or could even be used for decor at a wedding or event.
