SOLD! Vintage Crystal Swan Salt Cellar Table Set
Here is a beautiful vintage crystal cut salt cellar swan set with gold toned articulating wings and tiny spoons. This set includes one large swan that measures approximately 5” tall by 5 1/2” long, 4 smaller salt cellar swans that measure approximately 3 1/8” tall by 3” long, and 4 salt spoons. This set shows ware with scuffs, a couple wings are lightly bent, and patina, please see all pictures
Use of salt cellars is documented as early as classical Rome. They continued to be used through the first half of the 20th century; however, usage began to decline with the introduction of free-flowing salt in 1911, and at last they have been almost entirely replaced by salt shakers.
A great collectable that could even be used for decor at a wedding or dinner party.
