Vintage Kyo Ware / Kiyomizu Ware Pottery Bowl
Here is a beautiful vintage Kyo Ware / Kiyomizu Ware pottery bowl hand painted by Shangshan Shanfeng. It measures approximately 5 3/4” across by 2 1/4” tall, no chips or cracks but it is aging gracefully with crazing throughout.
The paper that comes with it translates to the following :
Shangshan Shanfeng
Tao Shu.
Born on August 10th, Showa 21st Year.
Graduated from Kyoto Municipal Fushimi Technical High School, Ceramics Department.
Completed the Ceramics Department of Kyoto Prefectural Ceramics Vocational Training School.
Received Kaoru pottery from the predecessor Yoshimine (a person who has contributed to traditional industrial technology in Kyoto City).
Kyoto Top Painting Ceramics Exhibition and Kyo Ware / Kiyomizu Ware Exhibition

Certified as a Kyo-yaki / Kiyomizu-yaki traditional craftsman
